We went to Duluth for the weekend a few weeks ago, and just got back from our yearly camping trip last weekend. I got some great photos from both trips!! I'm still stuck at Sears, the curse is still in effect :(. We got some new people that will be working in Men's Wear and Shoes, so far they are doing alright, but I still worry about their future if they are influenced too much by my coworkers...
I'm obviously getting behind with posting new photos in the gallery. I don't know when that will be rectified, hopefully soon.
I've gone to the dark side and opened up a Flickr account a little while back. If you want to look at it (but what's the point, all the pics are here...), it's here . I really didn't want to do it, and the ONLY reason I did was for the exposure to people here in town, though it hasn't really made any difference. Work's the same, everything else is the same. I'll update the gallery with some new sets soon!
I got my butt in gear and updated the gallery with sets that were leftover from December, plus I added the TLR set from camp this past summer, and SLR set from Christmas, and a new set from this past Thursday! Lots to look at :). Enjoy!
Hey! I hope you all had a nice xmas!! I enjoyed mine... I got Christmas Eve AND Boxing Day off, so that's 3 days off in a row :). Everyone enjoyed what I got them, and I enjoyed what I recieved too, so everyone's happy! I didn't take that many xmas pictures this year, though I did take 1 roll of film of mostly birds and squirrels, so we'll see how that turned out.
Here's what's new :) :
- New sets added to the gallery, including a new SLR section.
- Got an old Canon SLR, the FT-QL, and LOVE using it!!!
- Trying to migrate the gallery from Folderblog to Lightwindow, but can't find a way yet to integrate my Slimstat tracker into the script.
- Still working lots!
- Went to Duluth a few weeks ago, met the most beautiful girl in all of Duluth....she works at Amazing Grace Bakery in case anyone wondered.
I've updated the gallery with the pictures from camp (but not the TLR ones yet), as well as some other recent outings :). I will work on the TLR ones next week, and I'll have some new panoramas up around then as well. Hopefully I'll also have my bday wallpaper for Ryoko done soon too.... too busy :).
Got back from camp on Saturday. It was awesome! Weather was great, nobody got hurt or lost anything :) ! I got great pictures, but I'm still waiting on the picks from my TLR. I took 4 rolls worth (3 color and 1 b/w). I'll upload the ones from my digital within the next few days.
...And I still need to do a Ryoko Hirosue bday wallpaper for this year...
Well, we'll be leaving in a couple of hours. See you all in a week! I'll have lots of nice pictures to show afterwards as always!
Today I got a comment on one of my RH wallpapers, and an email, wishing Ryoko Hirosue a happy birthday (who I'm obviously not, but that's not the point). I totally forgot that yesterday was RH's birthday! I've been working so much lately, that I haven't thought about her birthday for well over a month now. Usually I have something made slightly ahead of time.... but not this time. I don't think I'll have time to make somehting before we go to camp, so it will most likely have to wait till we get back...
I can't believe I forgot!
Ok, so here's what's new :). The gallery's been updated with a lost series of photos from 2006, it's a flower series from 072606. It's in the gallery, but here's a quick link to it here . There's also a new squirrel shoot! I consider them my best squirrel pictures ever. There's a shoot from the Cascades from this Canada Day weekend. I've updated my 'about' page with my TLR equipment and acces., and cleaned out the old references to my old digital camera (my Canon A70), which I haven't had for a while now, as I sold it to a friend. I haven't taken any new pictures with my TLR yet, hard to say if I will or not before we go to camp at the end of the month. I almost went on a shoot with two acquaintences from DeviantArt, Alex and Ella . Not sure if we'll get another chance before camp or not :(.
Work hasn't changed much..... umm, I guess that's it :).
I'm still not quite over my cold/flu/whatever, and my mum's been sick for almost a week now too. I took all of last week off from work to try to get better. The weather was awesome for practically that whole week, but I couldn't go out and take pictures :(. But I did manage to get some stuff done, including scanning my negatives from the first two rolls taken with my Ikoflex! They are finally up in the gallery! The film I used for the first two rolls were Kodak Porta 400NC.
Ok! Well, what's been going on? We did some spring cleaning about a week ago, and I took some pics of my TLR's today. The gallery's been updated with both of those sets. I went out on March 20th with my TLR and took two rolls worth of shots (about 24 pics as there's 12 6x6 shots to a roll of 120 film). They turned out great, but I have to get around to scanning them so you all can see them :).
We got some more new people at work over the last month or so. I've been sick for most of this week with a really bad sore throat. Ummm, that's it I think.
Wow! Long time no update! Well, I didn't really do it on purpose. I've been very busy at work, with no time for anything else for the last month and a half, or so. A few things have happened lately, I got two TLR's (twin reflex lens camera), the Ziess Ikon Ikoflex IIa. They are both the same model....almost....one is a bit newer than the other. I finally took one of them out for a test drive along with my digital, of course. I got the TLR because they use larger negatives than 35mm film, and thus are able to produce very large prints (bigger than the 12x18 that my digital camera can do). I used a combination of my digital camera and guessing to meter with the TLR, so we'll see how close I was. Once I get the two rolls developed (and scanned) that I took today, I'll be adding a new section to the gallery. I'm really looking forward to what I can do with my new camera(s)!! I also was testing out a new hydration system, since I can't use my Camelbak when it's really cold out, as the water can freeze. It worked perfectly! What else is happening.... mmm... we got some new people at work recently. One of them left already, one is fantastic beyond our expectations... but she has arthritis, and is unable to work for very long at a time. It's too bad, as she is just mind-blowing wonderful, and I don't just mean work-wise :). We'll see if we get more before the whole store does hiring later in the spring or not.
Yikes, it's cold out there today! I had the day off and went to Centennial to take some pics. I went to an area that I hadn't gone to before. It was along a trail at the base of the bluffs that I didn't realize was there before. Anyhow, I found my second 'moss caves', though this was more like a cliff face than an actual cave. But it had the same thick, rich moss, and beautiful, colourful stones. My water supply froze up, and my hands got slightly frostbitten, so I could only stay out for 2 hours or so. I thought about going back home, and fixing the water and heat issue, and then going back, but decided against it.... a little more walking than I felt like doing today :). The pics are in the gallery, enjoy!!
Today we went out near Mission Island to check out some of the deer that frequent the area. My mum and dad go there on most Sundays to look at and feed all the deer. I had the day off today, so I went with them this time with my camera and got a lot of great shots! I didn't take my tripod with me, and I was quite surprised at the number of shots that came out sharp... usually my hands aren't steady enough to take that many sharp ones, and I took a lot of shots to compensate! Perhaps the chilly air froze my hands into non-shakiness! I was able to get within about 15-20 feet or so of them, without scaring them too much. The pictures are in the gallery, as usual!
